ecu info pissing me off

i put a mention up a couple of days ago.... basically ive got a vts 1999, and im wanting my ecu upgraded, basically i want it remapped, so i saw a remapped euc on ebay couple of weeks ago which was being sold along with key, so i asked a some1 and they said if it was from same engine then it would be a straight swap and all i would have to do is get my key programmed into the remapped ecu, but i havent got round to going to citroen yet but some other people are saying i wont work with key being reprogrammed due to the transponder, wereas ive also been told that transponder picks up any key signal but is just due to ecu if it starts by whatever signal it is programmed to receive... then my dad said he had a mate who can remapp them but he is new to doing it, but he is saying that my ecu cant be remapped and some people on here saying it can..

SO HOW DO I FIND OUT 100% im desperate here and just want to know if it can be remapped or can it only have the eprom chip soldered into it

i no you can get 2 diff ecu's which are bosch and marelli

why do u want it remapped? and why are u buyin a new ecu to do it?

no i already bought a new ecu before i new much about them, but im planning on camming it so need it remapped, y else lol, make it faster

cam it first before get remaped, if the keyt fits in barrel and turns it can be codded

what key? the key i got with ecu? if fits in but obviously doesnt turn as not the key for that barrel but if i take the ecu and my car to citroen, could they programme my original key to the new ecu?

right, i found out today that, my dads mate couldnt do it, only before he dint have software, wasnt fact that mine couldnt be done

you contact remap companys like chip wizards.

Buying an ECU mapped to another car is pointless and a waste of money, it wasnt mapped to your car, engine or mods.

cause itll be a fake

ok ppl, forget about the other ecu, im only intersted in remapping om original ecu, its a magneeti marelli, all i want to know, is can it be remapped, or is it only the bosch ecu's?
