Disconnect the battery for 5 mins then reconnect it.

The battery has been off for about a week now, someone told me that you have to have the ignition on when you re-connect it to reset the ECU.

search i covered it, if the battery has been out that long, plug it in start car and leave it idling for a good few mins then take for atleast a 15min drive.

He wants to reset it so it will benefit from the different pattern of airflow from any breathing mods he's fitted. e.g an induction kit, full exhaust system etc. Can't really explain it better than that tbh

i got told about this. for every breather mod you do you are suppose to reset the ecu as the air to fuel ratio has been affected. Once the ecu is reset it will measure the air coming in and adjust the fuel thus making your mods worth it as otherwise you could have a unbalanced air to fuel ration which in turn equals crap perfromance lol
