Hy guys.

This is a problem that i've been trying to resolve in the past 3 weekends. The diesel on the injectors isn't there when i stop the car from one day to an other, ie, if the car is stopped for more then 4-5 hours i need to try to start it up for a few times.

On the first sign that its going to start up i only notice that 1 cyl is pushing, after 1 or 2 trys the other cyl start pushing also and after that everyting is
ok.

I turn it off immediatly, to dont give a chance to the car warm up, i wait half an hour, start it up and everything is fine. If i wait 4 5 hours, or from a day to an other the problem cames back.

Solutions that didnīt work:

1- Glow plugs replaced, the old ones were good but i replaced anyway.

2- Temporization for the glow plugs is working fine, ive tested it

3- That alluminium part where it takes the diesel filter had a leek on its back, replaced the O-ring and now there isnīt any leek at all.

4- the manual diesel pump (used to fill the tubes with diesel after a filter change etc) were changed, maybe the stop valve werenīt good.

5- No diesel leeks detected on the return pipes, inlet pipe to the pump, return pipe, etc etc.

6- The cam shaft valves are under their tolerances, not from there the problem...

Any one have any other suggestions to try to figure this out?

Thanks!

could be a lot things, engine nakerd, piston rings, head gasket, fuel pump injectors

could be the alternator is knackered and doesn't like to much stress being put on it, not really sure.

your best bet is to pm adsayer, deisel man!!

What are the glow plugs? I don't understand such a technical word. Maybe are that four parts that warms up the cylinder to start the engine?
My brother had problems years ago and mechanics change that warming pieces and the ignition engine.

petrol cars have spark plugs..

diesel cars have glow plugs.. these are the things you let warm up before turning the ignition.. if they are nackered, it will account most of your problems, if your new ones were dropped they could have damaged cores

Sounds Like Injectors Or Maybe Fuel Pump Mate, Easy Thing To Do Is Go Scrap Yard And Start Off With The Most Common Fault Like Try Injectors Then Pump Etc

this fuel pipes must have air somewhere entering the system, or same valve that should close in order to keep the fuel on the pipes but it doesnt close and during the time the car is off the diesel just cames back, slowly but it cames back.

Well, the glow plugs are fine, they are new and ive tested them outside. no problem. the injectors...maybe...do you know a way to check them without all that crap thing to put pressure on them and see how it goes? Or can you tell me where can i get some fuel pump spare parts? This is a LUCAS pump.

it cant be the head gasket, ive tested it. ive placed a cap on the water reservoir that could read the pressure inside and no pressure at all (except the normal from the water heating)

it cant be the piston rings also, it doesnt make any kind of weird smoke on the exhaust system, blue and that kind of colors :)

i had a 106 diesal. which is a very simular engine. if it was left for a long time or was a cold day it was very difficult to start, tryed glow plugs, battery, starter, making sure there was derv in the primer pump (ie squizie hand pump) in the end it was shims on the valves, (lack of compresson)
