Dont know if anyone else has read up on these cars (currently just the Polo),
call me grandad or whatever lol but Im really impressed.

Just reading about the Bluelmotion 1.4 TDi Polo:
1 - longer gear ratios to reduce and also reduce emissions
2 - light weight wheels to reduce weight
3 - grill and spoiler to help the cars aerodynamics reducing emssions
4 - reduction of weight in the car, to reduce fuel consumption further
5 - bespoke 80PS 1.4 diesel engine

And it doesnt look bad either!

very nice, i'd probably sell up and buy a golf if they bring one out..

aren't these meant to hit mega-mpg, like 65 or something?

almost 'euro' in it appearance. its a good thing as the limits of engine technology are starting to be realised and further gains from the engine in terms of reduced consumption are increasingly minimal... which is why its a good thing the manufacturers are looking at the vehicle body now as fairly mild changes can make a significant difference.

good on VW... and the car looks ok.

Call me a wanker, but if everything releasing emmsions in the UK stopped tommorow, world emmisions would drop by 2% per year.

So buying these cars, buying carbon counterbalancing whatever the fuck it is food products etc is just a very clever marketing ploy which thousands of companies are using. I cant belive people are falling for it, so they can sleep at night easier? Its making no difference

If i buy one of these, live in a bubble and never fart again global warming is gonna increase. Like it always has its a fookin cycle. Anyone that reckons by changing their lives for the greener they will make some kind of meaningful delay or stop to the global warming is imo a complete numpty. And for those who say 'if everyone said that, no one would do it', your a retard. The world doesnt work like that. People need cars, factories need to keep producing things. Rant over

As far as the car goes, the body and colour are lush but the small rims look stupid

i looked into these cars and i found out there a con they only hit 65mph on base models. if you go into the deader ship and ask for adjustable seats and power windows the sales person will tell you they can't guarantee the car will do 65mph. but i suppose the car is good if you don't want stuff like that

Not a wanker man, no. but i dont think you (along with millions of others) haven't thought it through properly... which is probably the reason why there is a lack of personal responsibility and inertia in changing peoples behaviours. of course there are literally zillions on people on earth and whilst one person changing their ways wont do a shit. But if even a smallish percentage of people changed their ways slightly (and not necessarily in a way that affects quality of life either), a large change would result. and thats the basis behind these 'green' alternatives.

Sadly most people think narrowly about how their change wont do anything and people that do try are 'complete numpties'

and so.... fuck all happens.

Change of attitude and education of this matter would aid much more on climate change than is currently the case to be honest.

I'm guessing a 1.4TDI will be producing in excess of 75hp... and as a result i doubt wont get past 65mph. but thats a guess. have you got any technical spec info comfirming your statement?

Its not something Id take on track or take to my local sunday cruise, but for
a run around I think its pretty good.

There is a Golf version coming out, a Passat, Golf Plus, Jetta... List goes on.
Forgot to mention, you pay ZERO tax on this a year.

Wasn't there a more extreme verson of this in the older shape polo, only in LHD?
VW built a 3ltr car - a polo that could do 100kms on 3ltrs of fuel

I'm surprised tbh, I dont like it. It does look too bland for me. And only hitting 65mph? :n: well at least no speeding tickets on motorways :y:

with this whole deal of climate change, you have to realise that it's not just global warming causing the world to "heat up" but the fact is we are currently going through a series of intense sunspots it happened several years ago (don't know how many, could be hundreds) and the earth warmed up. However the sunspots died back down again (as they do) and the earth cooled down. However when the sunspots reach their peak (apparently in 4 years or so, not confirmed) the winters shall be really warm and your mobiles shall die due to high background interfernce with the signalling.

It's not just global warming, some things are changing that we cannot help. But every little helps, and green cars are always good. And it's good we don't have to leave petrol alone just yet :y:

Regular Polo TDi has more spec, similar price with only a slightly lower mpg!
