hi lads if you have read my thread about me putting a nice low mileage mk2 lump in my mk1 then you wil understand my concern. any1 who can tell me if the mk1 and mk2 gearboxes are the same or nt will be a massive help. as i have just spotted a glitch. when you lot are putting these raceland 4branches on why are you changing the downpipe to gearbox bolt?? jay:panic:

Yes, mk1 & mk2 boxes are the same.
The ratios differ according to engine size!

i have just been given a black top engine instead of silver top... umm.. worried now. will it bolt straight in? jay

as above, all fit! different ratios for different engines, all fit. search the gearbox code thread on ssc
