xbox live help

Hey,

got xbox live today, but i cant get it to connect :panic:

it says it cant get the IP address, and when I go to repair it on the comp, nothing happens

Any ideas?

on the xbox dash go to the furthest right screen and click on network settings.

somewhere there you will be able to select automatic ip selection or something. try that

if its already at automatic try setting it to your computer or routers ip

its quite hard to do...is it connected through our computer or a router??

if its through your pc then youve got to enable your internet connection to be shared

its already auto, and has an IP address on there, but wont connect to the laptop. Ive got an Ethernet cable connecting the 360 to the laptop a 'good' internet connection

i had this i had to buy a netgear router otherwise it wouldn't work.

i used to have it connected through my pc but it was rubbish your best off gettin a router... its just a bit tricky settin up up through your pc thats all

just go to pc world or something or ebay... pc world would be better... ive got the linksys WAG54GS and it works fine
