Basically - My sax should be back within the next week or so.

I'm not sure what to do though.
Its Break for Spares... OR... Fix and Keep / track it...

My Parents aren't keen at all on the idea of me Fixing and selling it..
So That won't be happening..

I did Have my mum talked into letting me Track it, but i'm not so sure it still stands now..

Really Want to track it, but don't know much on Track Days and stuff...
What do they Cost?
Whats the requirements etc?

Really Don't know what i should so, some advice / Tips would be appreciated...

Won't take much to Gut the car out, and mod bits...
Would soon MOT it and VIC it so long as its all safe etc...

Also, any good places for cheap panels?
Used or Whatever... Not fussed...

What do they stand up like in a crash like mine (There's a thread somewhere..)..

Chassis doesn't seem twisted or anything?
Hope this thread makes sense..
Cheers

Depends what YOU want really, if you want to track it go for it... There are however some regulations for 'track' cars, or are you making it a road legal one so you can still drive on the roads?

Would be nice to be Road legal.. ish.. lol..
I want to do it, but i don't know much about track.
Would ideally need to be driven to and from the track though, so Road legal FTW, as my licence won't let me tow, and my cavalier doesn't have a tow hitch etc..

Aren't Track Days expensive though?
And whats the general Regs?
Cheers..
Rep'd for speedy reply!

track days are usually around £120-200 i think.. not to sure on the regs tbh, think you just need to wear a helmet and obviously have a road lisence?

Well, if depends how 'deep' you go into tracking tbh.... Obviously if you go to the point where you have plasic windows and stuff like that, there will be safety stuff on it.. Fire extinguisher(sp) etc.

As for costs, again it seems it will just be your toy car for odd weekends... You can go to open days etc, not sure on the price but i don't think it's too over the top.

Doing it proper its more of a cost, PM mattster, he could tell you more on proper tracking, as he races his saxo for a living.

Edit: Well hey Matt lol ^^^^^

Nice one guys..
Won't be serious to start, more of a bit of fun..
Depends how the car goes and how well i get into it - Then there may be some performance mods, and more light weightening...
It'll be stripped anyway though...
Open days sound good though, like the sound of that.

Would definately be an occasional type of thing..
Also, what ways are there around the whole SORN thing and Tax?
Don't want to Tax it and use it 3 times in the 6 months?!
Just want to do some research before i do anything really!
Cheers again

I think doing it that way not taxing it or whatever it would have to be trailored around... Not 100 percent on that though...

Yeah i did think that.
Might be worth looking online.
I'm still trying to talk the 'rents round.
Just be nice to see it back on the road really!
Engine out, good tidy up, tappets sorted, new thrust bearing and it'll go like a little red rocket again!... for a 1.4 anyway! lol..

nothing wrong about using a 1.4 - you can have fun without going fast; just throw it harder into the corners :D

track days for a half day at MSV start at £99 depending on time of the year.

your car needs to be road legal for some tracks, others it just needs to pass inspection.

helmet and valid licence all thats needed tbh
