Not a happy chappy today. Got a call when I was out with my mates from my stepdad saying my car had been broken into. So flew home to find they had nicked my sub, amp, parcel shelf and 6x9's. They had obviously put a screwdriver to the side of the lock and hit it with a hammer. BASTARDS!!

Went to a bodyshop to day and they have quoted at £175 to fix the hole so I've booked it in. Plus I have it booked in for a Cat 1 alarm on friday. Getting a Clifford. Can't believe my luck with my car at the sec, only just come back from having the head gasket replaced!

Shit happens I guess

sorry to hear it mate, you may as well pay to get it delocked

Jacko
9th November 2007, 12:41

Crunkers
9th November 2007, 12:42
Your not wrong mate. How much is it to delock mate?

Jacko
9th November 2007, 12:43
i bet pred thinks some good has come of this....you no longer have 6x9's

Jazz

Sounds terrible mate, was parked in a rougher area of London the other day for only 20 minutes and when I came back some nob had tried his luck on the driver's door, the metal key-insert is mangled but thankfully thats it, twat didn't get in, no real damage. The standard alarms on the VTS are cack imo, going to get a Clifford and as Pred said above, de-locking is a good idea...

de-locked, no doorcards, de-pinned, boot smoothed

Weld up the windows and clifford it up

Bastards mate but i would look at an alarm as soon as possible with any car unless it was an absolute shitter when no one would even bother

Crunkers
9th November 2007, 12:44
I know. I was actually waiting for him to mention it. Surely though with delocking the car they would still have to fix the hole that has been made by the robbing bastards?

RedB
9th November 2007, 12:46
Gets welded up anyways and has to be sprayed back to match the colour so would be fixed anyways

Predator_R32
9th November 2007, 12:48
you mat as well get them welded up, make something out of it at least, will stop it happening again, i dont think it will cost much more

David
9th November 2007, 12:48
Surely it wouldn't cost any more though to delock it.

9th November 2007, 12:53

Crunkers
9th November 2007, 12:53
It will cost more cos the lock on the driverside would have to be removed and sprayed

Predator_R32
9th November 2007, 12:54
yeah but it means more security mate, worth it in the long run

just get a qoute to see what they can offer, try and get them down on the price, just haggle with them

Crunkers
9th November 2007, 13:00
Yeh I think I will give them a call and see what they say. Is £350 for the top range Clifford Alarm good or not btw?

Predator_R32
9th November 2007, 13:02
tbh i like toad alarms, clifford are equally as good

why dont you give either MR_TOAD or reevesy_vtr a pm, they should sort you out a good deal :)

Sorry to hear that, the same happened to our xr3, we didint de lock it afterwards but wish we had cos it was never the same plus the bastards came back for a 2nd go!!!
i`ve got mine de-locked dont how much it would be cos got mine done at my work for a 60 cigs and a 6 pack of beer! lol
Think its quite expensive tho cos the paint colour has got to be blended with the rest of door. Its quite a lengthy procedure.

The cops were no good when we called them about our xr3 they dusted it down but said the prints were too smudged!:n:
The worst thing was they didnt take the head unit or anything they were trying to knick parts off the car, they were having a look the 1st time then came back shopping the 2nd time!!
Stupid thing is we now know who it was cos theres only one other xr3 in our area and he bragged about it and it got back to us!!
Revenge is sweet!!!! he he he;)

Well he's a near proffesional car theif!!! Near enough evey month he has a different car normally scoobies, shoguns and just now he has a porsche!!
Aparently he goes to England to nick them then brings them back here to sell.
God knows how he's not been caught yet.
Im trying to think of how to get even with him, dont want it being too obvious tho, so i've left it for a couple of months. The car he nicked the parts for he still has i think it is genuinally his own car its got his private plate on it!!!

Crunkers
9th November 2007, 14:05
The polive were just round looks for prints but couldn't find anything...surprise surprise, but apparently the same thing happened to another blokes car last night too except his was a show car and about £8500 of stuff was nicked from his. Sucks being him. They found prints in his car though so you never know!

The same thing happened to my car, costs £60 each door.
They said the paint was cheap as its normal black, not metallic.

Sorry to hear mate. Hope you get it all sorted. At least you will have better security though:y: I should upgrade my security tbh as I saw some pikey chav lurking around my car in the small hours last week. Saw him just by chance as I couldn't sleep, so looked out my window and he saw me watching and he scarpered:afro:

Crunkers
10th November 2007, 19:23
Some of the alarm features you can add to the Clifford 650 are awesome, like electric start.

r3d_fac3d
10th November 2007, 19:26
yer my mate has got a Clifford alarm, he has remote engine start and timed engine start and also has this funny thing that disables the car if some steal your car or your keys etc.. stops and locks car and then alarm goes :)
