my sons car has a problem hope you can help, when the ignition is switched off the alternator light stays comes on but when the engine is running the light goes off as it should, positive answer needed asap please many thanks

could be the alternator , disconecting it and check conections

good question dont know is the answer as the son or the is not here, but could you give me the answers if it was on or not cheers

Hi,

on saxos the battery light will be on as soon as you turn the key the first "Click" and there for will be on when you turn the ignition off but dont turn the key to the fully off postion.

If this is the case then its normal !

however, if the light stays on after the key has been removed then you will need to get in contact with an auto electrican to sort this one out,

The battery symbol on the dash should be on when the key is turned to the first stage. It will then be on for a moment when you turn the engine over.

aye guys i know the normal ignition light sequence, its when i turn of the ignition to the removal slot the light stays on and when the key is removed it stays on draining the battery

Got exact same problem with my furio, battery light on when i take my keys out of ignition! i can even work my windscreen wipers and windows with no keys! nightmare! citroen garage want £150.00 just to do some tests!! i had a new alternator put in, brand new battery (£50!), had a diagnostics test but still dont know wat it is. boyfriend has checked wires in the HU and ingnition but still nothing!!! driving me insane as my battery goes flat over night sometimes, currently having to take a fuse out evry nite to stop it from happening!!
