i have just put some gearbox oil into my gearbox, i put this in on the top of the gearbox near where you can adjust yor clutch, i took the little black cap of and poured in the oil, i spoke my friend who is my mechnic and he said i have put it in the wrong place, he said that to put gearbox oil in you have to undo something on the side of the gearbox towards the wheel arch and "pump" it in. he said the way i have done it will blow a seal of somthing, please help. also how would you put gearbox oil into a citroen berlino td van would you pump it or pour it in.

On a saxo, you just pour it in like you did through that hole under the black cap… theres another bolt on the side of the gearbox that you can undo… you know its got the right ammount of oil in when it dribbles out this bolt on the side.

If you drain it completely then you don’t really need to take the bolt off the side, you can just put exactly 2liters in… or maybe 2.1 I can’t remember?

Not a clue about the van sorry!... I suspect its only pumped in because its in an awkward place to get to though
