You could try these off ebay as I have heard good reviews about these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Autoleads-QAWK4-4G-Car-Amplifier-Wiring-Kit-4-gauge_W0QQitemZ330183237441QQihZ014QQcategoryZ1493 2QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

that amp is way too underpowered for that sub, you need 500 rms to get the most out of it
that jbl makes 284 rms bridged on 2 channels

as pred says amp is under powered
it will run them but ya wont be able to use them to any where near there max as the amp will eva blow or turn it self off due to not being able to cope
have a look around mate and get something that can :y:

im confused mate... you have "two of these mothers"...
do you mean,
2 amps and 2 subs,
or two things - one amp and one sub
that has a massive impact on wiring lol.
Yes - the sub will be 'ok' as its a 2ohm DVC, so itll put either 1 or 4 ohm on the amp... and the amp says:
284 Watts RMS x 2 channels at 4 ohms
So yeah itll work... but as Preds says, to get the most from the sub you want a 500wrms amp... otherwise you might aswel have brought a cheaper sub...
but to answer your question, an 8awg wiring kit will work... however i'd go for the 4awg as youll have a bigger earth and you can upgrade more easily later on in life ;)

that sub wont take the power mate lol.
i think you should take a look at this
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-sws1222d-p-3674.html
and wire one channel bridged, like this
http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/1DVC_2-ohm_2ch.jpg
now the problem is with running comps from the same amp as you sub, is you now have two channels left @ 100wrms (4ohm). Those comps are only 60wrms (4ohm)..
they will work, but you'll have to keep the gains much lower than normal... which is hard as its tempting to whack it up lol. So yeah, if you already have them, they'll do.. my only advice, change the sub ;)

righttt! so on that diagram the sub is just using the 2 channels! so am i right in saying on my 4 channel amp, the other 2 channels will power my components? also is it a bad thing to have more power than you need, i mean i run the comps off my 4x52w head unit an they sound quality already so i probobaly wouldn't blast them anyway??
cheers for all yr help aswell :)
alsooooo ive actually received the alpine type r sub and was just wondering, would that cheaper alpine one sound better on my amp orrr is it just the fact im not using the type r to its full 500w rms potential?? because its going to cost me more in postage to send it back if you get my drift lol
