right brought some 406 brembo brakes with discks, pads and hoses and i brought brand new back original discks and pads fitted them over the weekend and now when i push the brake theres no braking point the pedal goes straight down and only a little bit of brake is there

ive bleeded the brakes loads of times and theres no air blocks or anything i carn't understand whats the problem this never happened before on the old brakes any help appreciated

also the brembos dont fit with 16" oz hydras with the spacers they come with

there wide buggas mate! the only just fit under my superleggeras

ive got xantia v6 283mm discs and then standard 406 pads and mine work fine but for the occasional squeek

maybe a problem with pistons im unsure? someone im sure will shed a bit of light on this

you have definetly beld them properly? and kept an eye on the fluid level while bleeding them?
does the pedal feel soft or does it feel as though it should be braking but just isnt slowing the car down?

you might need a bigger MC

nah they should work fine with standard master cyclinder, you may get improvements from upgrading but there should be no problems from running on standard.
mine are fine

djrem - as your car was a 1.1L you'll need to upgrade your MC as it will be smaller than the vts MC.
yours will be 19mm and vts is 22mm.

check the pistons on the 4 pots. if they have been sat at a breakers in the wet etc for i dont know how long then the pistons could be seized and will need freeing. the only other thing it can be is a huge air lock. when bleeding these brakes they take a hell of a lot of fluid so the fluid could have gone down and then started sucking ait down the pipes then when you topped up it trapped the air. the only other thing it could be is a spit pipe or a hole in the system elsewear!

shouldnt be seized as they have sealed pistons. probably just not bledd properly or as said. a splite pipe.

right checked today and noticed that the drivers side caliper has been leaking fluid all night and thats the one that wouldn't brake so took the wheel of checked it and noticed the bleed nipple was leaking and its down to the thread in the brakes thats fucked so its been sent away to be machined smaller somehow as it carnt be helicoiled for some reason

and williams it felt spongy all the way to the floor but no power only when you pumped the brakes quickly it would work but that pulled me to the left as that was working and the drivers side is the one with the problems so hopefully will be sorted

Glazd its sorted mate, as dsh said, it should have been fine with the standard vts MC.

Search for the "brembo brakes" thread on the forum for the right brake discs to use because when your driving about daily you will definitely get sick of the "brembo squeal" ;)
