as title...my engine revs itself when ever it wants, not alot..for example, at idle it will rev to 2k then settle at 1k again. think my induction kit needs cleaning? thought it may be something to do with my airflow meter?
Its getting anoying as when im sat at lights in town people think im doing it on purpose and i look like a right chav :dj:

Most idle problems would normally be to do with the idle control valve or the coolant temperature sensor. They are the first things that i would check.

ICV is attached to the back of the throttle body. The bottom part is the throttle position sensor and the top the ICV. It has a electirc cable that just clips off, two torx screws and it slides out.
Its a git sometimes to get to so you may need to remove the throttle body.
