View Full Version : Saxo Vtr W Plate Wont Rev Out????????//

hi i have just bought a w plate saxo vtr and when i rev it to around 5 thousand revs the engine makes a real low noise and slows car right down and wants to stall untill losing go of the accelerator? it has a pipercross induction kit and magnex back box?any ideas of what it could be also i have noticed it does not accelerate or pick revs up as quick as over mk2 vtr?:err:

weird, not restricted or out ??? does it not rev above that in nuetral ???

ye does the same when static, how would i find out if its restricted?

some cars dont have limiters and just rev its like a lioimeter wivout the bing bing bing etc
citreon mate, whats it like driving ???? had any probs with engine???

drives ok but is real sluggish and engine runs like it has racing cams in?? could this be anything to do with it?its no way near as fast as any other vtr i have been in though aswell?

twin cam ???? posibly mate, sum cams aloow more power but revs are lower, im not sure wat limiiter is on them

its only a 8 valve limiter is round about 6 and half.but even before the it happens it does not rev aswell as it should

possi plugs, leads, coil pack injectors?? fuel pump, its not mising or out ??? whats mileage ???
my vtr redlines bout same, goes well

right it maybe the airintake the engine maybe be breathin fast and the induction kit is cutin the supply off at a point of the rev range this could be a issue :) happened with a mates car :) took the air filter off and tried mine and worked a treat :)

Other thing it could be is the crankcase breather, if this is blocked it could cause this to happen, worth giving it a check.

take the exhaust off prob a broken up cat how old is it w plate whats that 98/99 7 yyears old could be had a few cars do this take the cat out and rev it up if it reve over 5k jobs a gudden its going to be loud but won't damage any thing
ps wouldnt do it late at night neighbours might shit then selvs lol
