Just been playing around with a Macbook Pro, and Wow.
Never played with an Apple Operating system before.
It's really got me interested I want one..

The one I played with was a 2.1Ghz Dual Core processor with only 1GB of RAM,
it rocked!

Seems so much more efficient than a Windows based machine.

It was using the Tiger Operating system, and now Apple's latest is Leopard....

Moral of the story is...
I need to buy a MacBook. :y:

PC ftw, apple is alright if your a designer etc. Pc's have alot more upgradable etc.

IMO anyway. I used a MAC at college doing music tech. Just done my head in the whole time. Using the pc was so much easier.

macs are soo much more reliable though.

all the hardware and software is done my apple. so you know exactly what is in the PC, unlike a mix and match with a PC

yes, the macs arent as compatible as PCs, but wh ocares.. a mac is better.

i have a mac and a PC, mac was for doing worm on as it wouldnt crash, but ive never touched it for work. haha

and i have my PC for games, hence its high spec :)

mystic, i like the sound of your pro! bastard

Dan, id like to learn their interface, plus it seems so much more efficient and looks visually nice ;)

Yer was like £1299 or something. Its not one of the newest range, it was the mid range option from the previous lot, although the new base option seems to be the same spec for a couple hundred less than i paid grr.

Do love it though, so many querky wee things to play with aswell, has an alarm, internal motion sensors & i have a lightsabre app to test the internal sensors (and also make lightsabre noises as i prance around swinging my macbook ;))

Can plug any camera or usb stick into it and theres none of the driver installing nonsense with windows, it just pops up the iphoto app and asks if i want to pull images off the device! Also isync keeps my mobile, macbook, work pc & home pc's calendars, contacts etc up to date with a single click... Awesome :)

19th November 2007, 15:55
Yeah there are, but i mean i had one of these until i moved to a MacBook, and to be fair there was a diffrence yes, but i never relly felt i was missing to much, the reason for sale was because im stupid and want the lates thing etc, i really couldn't afford the macbook at all, but i did it anyways, suppose it all depends how much you want one, and how much of the amazing features your actually going to use!

Karl
19th November 2007, 15:57
haha, good point Betty,
I think as much as Im uber tempted, my boss is telling me to wait til late January as there is an Apple convention where new ideas are brought out and old ones get a price drop apparently...
so no rush I guess.....

perhaps ill have to treat the Saxo to color coding :(

betty02

Depends what your goin to benifit more from matey,

Color coding, or a ncie shinye white sexy sleek looking macbook pro (you can see which one i'd have personally)

i mean your cars looking lush as it as at the moment mate!

yeah he's right just after xmas there will be updates on everything, everything rpobs ship with the latest OS, and stuff, deffo wait for that mate, if theres a whole new one theres dropped prices, then search for a refurbished one of there site it's even cheaper!

Deffinatly wait as apple are buggers for releasing things every few months as we all know!

Karl

Agree, although everyone has own opinions and each suits their own needs...but..

i am a designer of some sort use most design applications around, animations unless u have the very high spec model then i have to say stick with pc, any other mac i used cant render animations for shizzle. macs have frozen where as my cheapy dell 8400 runs fine but slow. no unstability.
I love mac for style n simplicty but pc wins overall to me.
For me both good machines each have their pros n cons. but id still go with pc.

Karl

PC only wins because the majority use them because theyre cheap to buy and upgrade.
