Hi all i have a silver saxo its not the icelandic grey its the other one forgot which sorry its early.Well i just want to know really if i am doing what i shuld to keep my car looking the best this is how i wash my car every time.
Spray over with water.
Clean my wheels with Hot wheels.
Clean using two bucket method with turtle wash and wax.
I clean it using a wash mit.
Dry off using waffle towl.
Use Bug and tar remover.
them do all the black parts with the maguirs black detalling cream .
then i use maguirs NXT Wax and apply it wil the pad supplied then.
then clean the windows with paper and window cleaner.
I want a umd but at the moment is this a good method to cleaning the car?
I will also be buying some Polish tonight for the car and applying that when i clean the car.

sounds right to me mate - similar to what I do - but I wouldnt use a wash and wax - I just use a shampoo on its own then wax the car after its been washed

How are you rating the NXT wax? I've been using it but didn't really think it was all that good?
Dodo Juice is good for wet look...

Tech wax is slightly better but DJ and other 'upmarket' waxes are much better and last longer
Treat yourself and your car ;)
AG SRP and a UDM are very good ideas and black cars always take the most work

rinse car first with a hose

rinse car done
dry with a poorboys waffle weave towel or sonus one
apply polish leave on for 10 to 20 mins i use autoglym resign polish.
buff off
apply sealent leave on for 30 to 60 minutes i use poorboys ex-p
buff off
apply wax leave on for 10 to 15 mins i use dodo juice light for my colour

on bumpers i add two layers of autoglym bumpercare
on wheels wash them with shampoo, then rinse and dry
then apply poorboys sealent 2 to 3 coats
on inside arches i either use degreaser with a brush and rinse off or just spray with hose and washmitt.
The engine i cover all the bits up first electrical bits battery etc then spray with a hose, then use some degreaser work from bottom up with a brush leave for 5 minutes to 10 minutes hose off then i dry the a waffle weave then apply autoglym bumper care 2 coats.

^^ why apply bumper care and then wash?
Use something that contains silicone like Meg's High Endurance Gloss or bumper care on the wheels arches after a wash and scrub, also great for dash, trims, bumpers and wheels
I would also just degrease the engine leaving it to soak for 5-10 mins and then get some more Meg's on the plastics and piping working from the top down (otherwise you will be re-wiping what you've already done :))

bumper care after i have washed i mean red, i'm quite happy with bumper care gives a nice shine to the bumpers:) i find the way i clean the engine works for me, i wash my engine more than 5 to 10 mins i think i let it soak in then i dry the plastic bits otherwise the bumper care doesn't work as good:homme:

Meg's uses more silicone, lasts longer and smells nicer :p
Go grab some and tell me what you think bit expensive at £8 a time but well worth it as its lasted me for 3 months so far and its got so many uses
