Did a quote yesterday on bell for my mk2 VTR 2000 model and they quoted me £1150 fully comp (£500 excess) on my own name, with my mam and dad as named drivers

Did a quote today on a 02 VTS and they quoted me £1470 fully comp (£500excess) on my own name with mam and dad as named drivers

By the way that was me: 18years old, 1 years driving

Saved the policy and details, will be ringing them tomorrow to check it out!

Also what are they like for mods?

Bell is good for mods and are cheap overall, but like people say either get a 0% credit card or get a £1k loan like I did to pay it off.

I'm paying an extra £100 over 12 months instead of £570(ish) they wanted if I paid it monthly.

I've just taken out a policy with them for the ST, £1222.20 in my own name, 21 with 0 ncb. Works out about £250 more than the VTR. :y:

reason its even reasonably cheap is because uve got a £500 excess, then on top of that ur gunna have a young persons complusary excess of £250, so even before you think about it upping your premium if you do make a claim youve gotta pay the first £750

my insurance on my 2002 vts is £950 in my name fully comp for 12months with no excess other than the £250 compulsary young persons excess with exhaust system and airfilter added and im 19 with 2 years no claims, thats what i call a deal ;)

search around i had a claim and found bell to be the cheapest on a vtr which was ideal on a 10month policy as i got me no claims quicker, anyhow now its renewal time they are around 150£ more than other places + bare in mind you only get 10months (if you are on the 10month one) so your paying for less time, i rang them last nite to change my car over from a vtr to a mondeo for the last 7 days.. . . bla bla thats £11 please sir "well can you not waive that petty ammount i will probably renew with you" ermm we cant im afraid but we can put ur renewal down by £70, i said no ta charge me the £11 youv just lost your self £800 for poor customer service, not even waivin 11£ for 7 days insurance and probably gaining a renewal is poor

Add 1 or 2 named driver(s)

That will bring it down a fair bit!

Especially if they've been driving 8 years+
