Hi,
I just bought new pioneer speakers...80rms and 160 peak i think. now i just got an amp that pumps out 110rms and 200 peak for each speaker. the bass produced is very very bad! the only way round it is to turn the bass all of for speakers and use the sub?
is this a setup problem?

You should be using the speakers for mid-range and treble only and the sub for bass m8.

what do you have the gain set at? if its to high then they will just be distorting all the time hence sounding like a wet fart

the gain was low at the time when it started to distort the bass with all filters off.
when the filter is on the bass disappears as expected and the speakers are extremely loud.
but would like a wee bit of bass from them! or should i use the sub to pump all of the bass out?

Low PF (Low Pass Filter) means that it will play frequencies lower then selected. also, important thing is if it's a 6dB/octave, 12dB/oct, 18 dB/oct, and newest are 24 dB/oct.
also, High PF (high pass filter) plays the frequencies above selected...
like everyone advised you, you should use the fronts for midrange and high frequencies, and sub for bass...
