i have not long got a 2001 Y reg VTR that needs some work etc before i can put it back on the road. its lowered right down, gearbox and clutch work fine at the moment but im told that when VTR's get lowered they go through box's and clutches very often as the engine doesnt line up with something properly... is this true? if so is there somethink that can be put in like an extra support etc to stop the problem....thanks

depends how low you are, will fuck your drive shafts first, then they will fuck your box......
Some people never had a problem but as you say it wont line up, you might have a problem getting it into gear or the gear selector rod that links to gear lever hitting off exhaust etc

only way to stop it happen is to raise it to a sensible height -40mm from standard for looks or 30 -35mm for handling ;)
