as said i know of about 4 people how were running the 1201.1 off 4guage and it used to cut off as soon as you crank it up. It would run all day at quite reasonable levels but when you want to show someone what it can do it would cut off. the 0 guage has fixed the problem with all of them and had enough left to do tb3 or some parts of tb3 with

how are you going to be running your comps? i'm assuming its going to be another amp as you suggested which will need teh 0 guage as the 4 is borderline for just the 1201.1

see this thread

quite detailed of what wiring kit for the gto1201.1

im telling you now that 0 gauge is a complete bastard to hide under the carpet and get through the bulkhead, uprate the big 3, uprate the battery, 4 gauge should run two amps no problems at all

if the amps cut out it means the gains ae set too high, it happened on my last amp, adjusted it as it was on max (had no idea about audio back in the 80s :p) and worked great :)

why will 0 gauge be hard to get throught the bulk head?
am i right in saying the 4 gauge power cable is 20mm thich and the 0 gauge is 50mm, am i reading the values on the box properly?

cos 0 gauge is about twice as thick as 4 gauge mate, 4 gauge is perfectly fine, anymore amps than two then yes id go for 0 gauge, just make sure you have good earths and a good battery and you cant go wrong :y:

0 guage is a pain in the foof, but im going down the middle not the sills so wont be that much of a problem apart from getting the big bitch through the bulkhead. although i fitted one before on a focus and was easier than 4 as you could push the cable through the rubber grommit without it collapsing and bending.

i got the bosch silver, top battery although it has died once but is a good perfrormer

i paid about 80quid for it about 2yrs or so ago
