After owning my saxo for about 2 months ive noticed the brakes arnt that strong.....peopole said about the brakes not being the sharpest in the world. I just thought they were fine as normal feeling. Just been driving another persons saxo and his basically feel alot sharper as if i dont have to push the pedal so hard.

I looked at the last MOT certificate from a month ago and it mentioned about the discs being near to the service limits. They are black diamond grooved and drilled discs, so i would still assume that they were to be better than a set of standard brakes on my mates car.

Also wondered if it was connected to the rear, as they are stock and when i pull the handbrake they dont have the same response as my mates car, and just to guage...would be very very difficult to skid the rear wheels at all.....unlike most cars.

obiously they do work, just not as well as i would have hoped. ATM im on a tight budget but just interested and would ideally like to sort it.

Just wondering if anyones had this before?

what rear brakes have you got discs or drums?

if its drums what normally happens is people adjust the handbrake cable all the time instead of the shoes.
Try loosening the cable then remove drums, adjust brake shoes so you can just about hear them rubbing the drum, then tighten the cable again
