I think all the "elite" are growing out of them. If you look at what most want to or am moving onto they are more grown up cars.

I'll be doing the same soon enough.

People just grow up and want to change, I dont think I'll buy another one as a main car. Definitely have one for track days though.

Hit the nail on the head!

The hardcore will have saxos for years to come but not as main cars.

I plan on keeping mine until it's a classic! No intention or no need to sell.

i love mine tbh, is a fun little car to drive.

i dont think i'd sell it and have no plans to sell it in the near future. will more than likely keep it as a weekned/track toy and then have an everyday car, probs diesel too.

i dont plan on selling it yet.....

yes i like it at the moment, but as i get older, i would want a bigger car to suit my needs etc

use the vtr as a track car only in the future :y:

Im not a ‘hardcore user’ but ive only just bought my saxo. Being 35 ive got the usual family car, a new Zafira diesel, but I wanted something to replace my Astra GSi hillclimber/hobby car with. Having owned a saxo when I was ‘younger’ it was my first choice, alongside a 205 gti but the Saxo came up first.

Reason for joining Sax P? having always been in Vauxhall clubs Its pretty essential imo to join an owners club if you want advice etc

Its just the normal wave that hits car clubs. Hardcore members get bored, sell up and move on, new members join and in turn become the new hardcore. Also as cars gets older, the type of owner changes too

I'm selling as I don't use it. I'm working in London now, don't drive at all really and just want it gone to be honest. It's been fun!

Will still hang around on here a bit though, I actually enjoy helping in the tech bit

yup c2 has come out, the replacement for the saxo and the markets flooded with loads of saxos to buy, hence the cheapness.

Ill probably hold out for when they go back up in price lol

have look on prices ofr XR2i's there like 400-800 and older XR2's are 2 or 3 times that price hehe. i may have long wait mind

Theyre worth bugger all now, good cheap fun little cars...

I think Im just gonna run mine into the ground, and if it keeps on going, Ill buy a more economical newer car and run the Sax as a weekend fun car.

In 5 weeks time I would have of had my Saxo for 4 years so I could be refered to as hardcore lol. I was going to sell up and upgrade to something a bit more grown up as I have had my saxo since I was 18 and I'm now 22 and felt I should move on. But the problem with having your car that long is that you become attached and the saxo is so cheap to run anyway. So I bought a TVR for the weekends and kept the Saxo as my daily commuter instead
