Hey,
Basically I've defaulted 3 payments with Quinn and now there asking for the remaining Premium in full by 00:01am on Monday 17th. Basically that means I've got till tomorrow to pay it or my insurance policy will be cancelled. 2 of the defaults were 100% my fault but the 1st one was a fuck up on either there's or the banks behalf.
I'm going to ring Quinn tomorrow and see what they can do about it. I'm posting here because I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and managed to resolve it? Or whether I'll be fighting a losing battle?
If they just ultimately refuse to budge then I'll just have to admit defeat or beg my mum or dad for the money, which is £1,155. :(

Youd have thought youd have learnt better money management after the 2nd time missing payments?
Yeah Ive made similar mistakes, but then again make threads about it, like people should feel sorry for me.
Im not trying to sound like a dick, Im just saying... Its your own fault mate.
Anyway, read your policy agreement, Im sure they're well within their rights.
If you aint got the cash your gonna get cancelled, simple as that.

at the end of the day the payments are put their so you can easily pay back the insurance ove the course of the policy. and if you cant afford the repayments either getter a smaller/insurance friendly car or dont drive at all!

Doesn't missing payments effect your credit history really bad?

Youd think so. I had a dispute with budget, and I eneded up owing 3 month payments, which Is currently being payed via C.A.R.S (debt colloection agency).
Despite this, I still got a very good APR on a loan.
so hard to say really. I think it depends on the bank.

my bro went through this but missed only 2 payments, they wanted the cash out of him didnt happen he phoned them up and explained how it was and they continued the policy but..... the reason for his missed payments was genuine and very serious, so just try phoning them and explaining, worth a try

Quinn mate.
They sent a letter about the payment...and it didnt come through untill a week or so after they sent it.
We then phoned em up and they said the insurance had been cancelled (was driving with no insurance for a few days without knowing i wernt insured)

I missed 3 payments with norwich union (owed about £450) and had to contact them by a certain date, phoned them up a day late and they cancelled my policy :( Only thing they could do was start me up a new policy, which was alot cheaper than my old 1! around £60 a month cheaper!, had to give a payment up front (about £100) and my next paymeant aint till the end of January. Bargain :)

I rang up and they gave me the option to pay half by 4pm today and the other half in ten days time, which I did.
Would have been a disaster If I couldn't have paid it. The cheapest insurance quote was £2700 with Quinn again (£750 more than I'm paying now) but I still doubt they'd even touch me. Next was Quick Fit at £3400 so the VTR would had to have gone.
Hopefully I'm out of the shit now.

i had a similar situation with first quote ... basically the payment didnt come out my bank ( because they didnt request it ) then they sent me a letter marked 1/5/7 saying that your policy has been canceled as fron 27/04/07 i rang them and was fuming as the money was in my account and id been un-insured for 3-4 days without knowing!
when i called em i spoke to a manager who tried to blame my bank.. anyway they ended up giving me a years no claims and started a new policy! had only been with em 5 months lol! im not complaining though!

Yup that's the same with me, the 1st default was because they didn't request it, entirely not my fault.
