Not 100% sure but it looks like the inside of the carb and so could be the MAF (mass air flow sensor) I'm sure someone on here could correct me tho

Ok just looked it up its a carb/throttle body/injection rail all in one lol.
Still go with it being a MAF

thanks mate reped mines a 97 reg spi whats the best way to clean the maf? would spraying abit of wd40 on it be wise?

Early 1.1s were Single point injection, where as later ones are MPi

thats a single point throttle. umm. its probly somin to do with air comin in. air flow? air mass?

this is the stuff i use and it works miracles! Cleans up TB and Carbs brilliantly

wynns do a carb cleaner and its the absolute shizzle for £4.99. breaks the crap down instantly :y:
looking at the haynes bible it looks to be an Inlet Air Temp Sensor :y:

yrah good old carb cleaner would work wonders mate. just clean it well afterwards.
