does anybody know any good savings accounts with no catches etc.?
Some info on what I would be looking to do

I am 18
looking to put £20 a week away
currently with alliance and leicester
would want the savings to be transacted from my interent banking account straight to the savings
not after no amazing interest rates etc something that just has no gimics and i get back what i put in my account!!!

thats all i can think of about now i just dont know which would be best to do

is anyone with alliance and leicster that has a good savings scheme set up with them or is it better to set up a savings scheme elsewhere!!

there not if you use them right they get you good credit ratings etc!!

boz

give your money to me, i will look after it for you ;)

on a serious note, i have a few accounts

i have an ISA
i have an account with tesco and an online account with ING.
you can only put so much in an ISA per a year.

you can open a savings account and have them put a withdraw limit on it, they will say that they can give you X% interest per annum if you dont with draw any money, then you can have them setup a time period of say 30 days notice for any withdrawls. you may only be allowed to withdraw once per annum without any penalty. if you withdraw more, they will pay less interest. works well if you really want to save and stop yourself just taking money out for daft things ;)

once you are loaded, invest your cash into the forestry industry abroad, every one is in need of paper. you get a good return ;)

i also have an account abroad, wont say where or who with as spys my be reading this, but it has its advantages ;) lol

you could just stick it under ya pillow lol

i have a big jar that i bang any copper and silver into, if im feeling flush or have been out on the lash and have a pocket full of £1s and £2s, i put them in the pot too.

me and the missus were at asda once and took the pot to the machine thing they have there, im not joking, we were there 45mins and got a fortune out of that pot! lmbo its a good way to save a wee bit extra.

I STILL THINK HE WILL BE BETTER OFF GIVING IT TO ME TO LOOK AFTER ;)

A good savings account that HSBC does is...Regular Saver, you can't get to the money for a year..but you get an interest rate of 8% and all you need to do is set up and standing order to pay the account every week and thats it.

chrichvtr i think was wanting a savings account where he can go into should he need to, when he wants to.....if he came into financial difficulty then he has nothing to fall back on because he cant get into his saving account.....
