you gota love them, took the new mondy to the garage to get the handbrake sorted as it was sh*t (considering they put a new 12month mot on it) got given a bmw 01reg 5dr 3 series look well smart.

absolute bag of nails, pulled away with (enthusiasm) in 1st - clutch in, BANG, back end banging i was like wtf, anyhow it was just a absolute crap car to drive clutch felt dead long it just felt like apart from the knackered car it was crap to drive looked veryyyy dated inside aswell with the crappy mgp calculator needle which flies up and down every other second,

anyhow parked up at mc ds went got food, came back looked at the gears and reverse was in the top left next to 1st, tried moving it accross wouldnt work, just goes to first, though ok push down on stick, nothing.... by this point im like wtf so i pull up on the stick....pinggggggg, whole gearnob come flying off in my hand hahaha, i had to open the door and fred flinstone it into reverse. (i bet it was a sight)

I had a nissan note for mine a few months back. Actually hated the thing when i got the saxo back!

does anyone know how you are meant to engage reverse on that bmer at all? was really dissapointed id imagine that type of car would cost a fairbit, me bro has just bought an 01 3series coupe so ill have a test drive off that tonight with any luck

In the 1 series you push the gear stick to the left as if you are engaging first or second. Then push it harder and it pops across. Might be similar to the 3 series.

Edit: The guy that owns the 1 series say's he *thinks* that it's the same for the 3 series.

TBF when i've driven the beemer is not bad at all. Quite nice tbh. Easier to get it into reverse than having the lift up style.

I think ur ment to push it all the way left then pull the gear thingy up and it should get into reverse. My old clio was the same LOL

they are there to be raped, but turns out by the time i wanted to have ago i was to late :P overall didnt think anything off it tbf was very low seating position like, cant wait to try me bros 3series coupe seems to think its a 130bhp rw drive model or something, be nice to see how that drives

i don't like courtesy cars much most of the ones they give you are different to controls to the way people drive normally and had a hard life mostly, if it was a new bmw or new golf that be cool:)
