View Full Version : What is Justice In this Day and Age?

Just got news today that my nans car got written off the road yesterday, with her in it obviously. This being bad enough, it got loads worse when I heard the story.
Basically there was an accident on some dual carriage way, and my nan was forced to stop by it. Then some lorry driver behind her was geting irate because he had to make a delivery. My nan (a good driver btw, but still 61yrs old) was pretty nervous about pulling out, because half the road was blocked by this crash, and she had no "slip road" type thing. She just had to pull out into 70mph traffic. The poloice hadnt arrived yet, and so the scene was still chaotic.
So anyway, with this going on, my nan still was not confident pulling out, and told this to the lorry driver. He then got so pissed off, he got in his lorry (16wheeler lorry) and RAMMED her into a ditch. Smashing the whole side of her car in, and trapping her inside as her car went down the side.
He then drove off.
She now is limping and has a swolen legs/hips where the door crushed into her.
I have been pissed off in my short time. Really pissed off. Somethimes being border line killing whoever deserved it at the time. But Id NEVER do this to a 61 year old woman who was scared to do something that, lets face it, most people would be nervous about doing. I wouldnt do It to anyone of any age, "just to meet a deadline".
Now. How to make a horrible situation worse? The bloke got a caution. A caution for writing off my nans car, with her inside, DELIBERATLY with a 16 wheeler lorry. What the fuck. At this at the same time as reading about people getting 2 years in jail for texting...
Apprently my nan rang the company, and they just didnt give a fuck at all. Asked her what she wanted them to do about it. Sarcasticly, obviously.
Were gonna drag em through the papers. Cannot believe the justice of the world today.
My god I wish I was there.

Im sure were gonna sue his fucking shriveled up bollocks off.
He rammed the wrong lady off the road. My nan is the best when It comes to complaining. Seriously. For good reasons of course, my nan has got free holidays, free stays at hotels, free meals. The lot. lol. Like I say, for good reasons. So I know for definite they arn't getting away with anything.
Im just most annoyed about
#1 There are people bad enough to do that
#2 he already got dealt with, and got a caution...

All in all, don't let this ruin your Christmas, if anything sue the fuckers for every penny you can get and then have a nice holiday on them -- then get your nan to complain so you get another holiday for free. All in all, good ;)

feel its abit one sided tbh, this story coming from ur nan? if its completely true then yes its sick and he shud have the crap kicked out of him, but from the caution and situation that they were both in, something else could have happened (he pulled out and had to swerve back in?) but from ur nans view he just rammed her because she was annoying him..
i could be wrong but it seems abit far-fetched, hope ya nan recovers though! and you find out exactly what happened.

out of order that is, your nan didn't deserve what that 16 wheeler lorry did, hope he gets more than a caution and you sue him for what he did.

get his reg number and a whole lot of cars from sax-p.. we will take his lorry fast and furious style that will teach the prick!!
hmmm saxos against a lorry?? sounds good in theory but i think he has the weight advantage and from my experience the saxo's arent the toughest of cars! but hey worth a shot...

Thats outrageous to be honest, glad your nan is OK though.
Yet you can now get 2 years from using your phone whilst driving.
Law stinks.

Not at all. Im not offended by your post, but you are wrong though. The bloke even admited to the coppers later on when they caught him. The woman even repeated herself to get a proper confession there and then.
Its upto my nan to press charges now. She deffo will, but I suppose It will be a while before he gets done offcially then.
Im not 100% sure how It works, but if there was a blatent crime, why should someone have the option to press charges? Shouldnt they just be arrested there & then?
Cheers for all the nice words too :)

fair enough then, my mate got his saxo rammed into on purpose, but because it was a criminal matter the insurance didnt pay out, so now he has to goto court for the costs of his damaged car!

That's awful mate!!
You SURE the police only gave him a caution? seems very iffy to me, if there is evidence they have grounds to arrest him, if there isn't they could still arrest him on suspison.
GBH is classed as a quite serious crime, which normally involves CID and the works...
Just doesnt sound right. Which police force is that? you wouldn't see that happening in hampshire.
How do you KNOW he was only cautioned?
smiith
23rd December 2007, 00:43
coz most police now are halfarsed and dont want the paper work :)
bloke will of just blagged that he needs his lisence for work, and thats it, hes let off
i got stopped abit ago, a taxi overtook me in a 30 zone, and i was doin 30, then police came up behind me and stopped me, sayin i was goin abit quick... when i mentioned the taxi "its you we are talkin to, not him" they let taxi drivers get away with about 50 through town all night, even the T5's
stupid tbh that people can get 2 years for using there phone, and a caution for ramming sumone

The law is a funny thing! And paperwork is never an exciting thing to do! We treat taxi's no differently in Hampshire to normal motorists.
Unfortunatly the sad fact still remains that young drivers in saxos or simular crammed full of people are a likely target for no insurance . license and at this time of the year Drink driving!
I drive a saxo still but i have seen some dodgy saxos on the road aswell!

tell your nan to file/request a charge of "use of a deadly weapon" which applies to cars and lorries. which carries a long sentence, which he deserves.
He must of said something different, he would of been arrested if admitted to ramming a car off the motorway into a ditch.
hope nan has a speedy recovery

sorry to hear that mate, glad shes ok.
i really cant see a wagon driver deliberately crashing in to her and pushing her off the road tbh plus if shes not able to judge the speed of on-coming traffic (no matter how fast or slow they are going) should she really be on the road.?

Dom, I'll dig out some of my media contacts today. Contact me via pm (or on here) with full details of the time and place that the incident occurred, and I'll get the ball rolling.
Ask your Nan for the dealing officer's ID numbers and I'll scoot round a few friends from ACPO.
I do find it diificult to comprehend it if it is as described. We're yet to hear any other side of the story, so I'll reserve judgement on that until then.
