2 also my front wheels are quite far back in the arches, so were my mates! is this usual or is there a problem (think its only when wheels are turned not sure)

I used to keep below 3k rpm when my engine was cold!
Too Low revs can strain the engine!!

Use fully synthetic oil for starters. It clings to the internals of the engine better than semi-synthetic oil. Once the engine is turned over, wait 10 seconds to give it a chance. Then it doesn't really matter if you give it some revs, as oil pressure will be fine, and all internals should be well lubricated. If you want to be super careful, it doesn't need more than a minute or two before you give it some stick.

What have you currently got in? I'm sure it's not going to be an issue... Look for a fully Synthetic, 5w40, or 0w40. Shell Helix is a good choice, you can get that from most Shell garages. There's also Castrol Edge Sport. There are better oils than those out there, but they are trickier to obtain. Ebay is a good source, as there's plenty of people selling such oils. Look out for Motul, Silkolene and Millers to name but a few...
