I know its not a saxo but how do we go about converting my Bro's AX GT to 4 stud? Which car is the best to get the bit from? Basically tell me everything we need and need to do.

4 stud struts/hubs easyest way to do it.
4 stud drum/disc beam
saxo/106 from a crappy easy to do.
think som gayXs came in 4 stud later models.

Just be capful with what drive shafts you use with the struts. They will all fit but if its not got the correct bearing for the shaft it will not last long.
Also note there are two size dowel pins in the suspension arms so you have to get the correct size one for the strut used.
Now im thinking about it there are two size year beam mounts as well. All the early AXs use the smaller one. You will have to redrill your AX shell to use the later type unless you have a late AX shell. Or you can make up a shim that goes over the AX bolts to fit the later beam. You can just swap the trailing arm for 4 stud ones too. Or you can start massing about with brake back plates and stubs but that can be next to impossible on a old beam.
Also think about your front ARB. If you want to stay with your AX GT one but you new type front struts you will have to use big bearing suspension arms with the lower ARB mount. They can be found on very late model 106s and saxos with 1.1s and some other lesser models.
If you are fitting a disc rear beam you will have to use a inline brake compensatory along with you will have to use the disc hand brake leaver. Then you have to shorten the hand brake cables, move the AX cable mount or shim out the cable. All 3 ways work well.

Its an Early J reg Mk1 So no simple bolting up of a four stud beam :(
So in simple terms (cos I'm simple) we need to drill the holes in the shell out to fit an entire rear beam? However the original rear beam can be re-built using four stud drum trailing arms?
On the front can we just use the entire front uprights from a 106? Or can the Hubs from a 106/saxo be attatched to the bottom of the original struts? Is this more work?
We can't really do this work ourselves so we're hopefully gunna buy all the stuff we need then get somebody else to bolt it up.

The easy way is just get a drill or round file out and make the 4 beam holes a little bigger to take the Saxo beam bolts. Then stick a bit of paint round the holes so they don't rust. If its a drum beam it will just go strait on then.
The front just get a set of early 4 stud struts and then put your AX spring pan, spring and cap on. Then get a set of late swing arms with lower ARB mounts. Or if its a newer strut get the drive shafts to go with it or even just the outer CV and swap them.
Its all easy really. You just have to do it right. When you know what beam you have and what struts i can talk you step by step on how its done.
