Just got a furio with a VTS engine installed, the engine has all been done properly, new ecu etc.
PROBLEM: after driving car for about 5 mins the car will simply not change gear, sometimes i may manage to get it into 2nd for pulling away, 1st is a NO-GO as is 5th. I can manage to change up gears when driving to 4th, sometimes can change back down to third but not at all with ease. It also bites slightly in neutral and sometimes will stall, also makes an awful noise when in neutral like a gear rubbing noise? It even gets as bad as i cannot select any gear at all if it jumps out of 4th or 5th on the rare occasion i can get it into 5th when driving.
Any ideas? Thanks all! DAN

Check the linkages..Could be a problem there..

Most likely the fact that the gearbox has died..

If the gearbox has died, how much would i be looking to get a new one fitted and what gearbox should i go for? Cheers

Any other ideas?

vts box roughly 1999-2001 50-80k would cost you roughly 150-180 quid. plus labour :)

hope u get it sorted soon m8

Has this just happened after you put the new engine in?? Sounds like whoever fitted it forgot to fill it with oil!

A above doesnt sound like its lubricated.

As for a box instead of a vts consider a 106 rallye s1 or a 106 xsi box for very good acceleration.

If you want better top end try the vtr box 100 is about 4k revs

Ok cool, will get the transmission oil checked and filled up and see if that helps. Any other ideas of what it could be? Just so i know what to possibly expect.. Thanks! Dan
