i would say your spot on mate but there is leeway as in my less mature day i got cought doing 63 in a 40 and just got the 3 points :y:

ok cheers just was in a 40 and a mobile van was parked up but sure was doing 40 cant member, really worried now.

tbh, we all accidently creep over the limit without knowing we are.
think you gota be 10% over the limit before they clock you aswell :)

thought it was a ban if you went 30mph over the limit such as 100 on 70 road such as dualc or 65 in 30 ?... i got caught doing 115 on the drag strip but luckily copper was in good mood n let me off and warned me that was it :)

I believe it has something to do with the SP30 offence code, i.e. get caught within 30mph of the limit and you'll get a fixed penalty (i.e. 3 points and £60), anything over that and you're looking at a summons. Double the speed limit or over 100mph = Pretty much guaranteed a ban iirc.
