take it to "one of them" shops where you get all your normal phones unlocked and check if they can do it on the iphones yet?

right, ERM well I'm pretty sure you can do this via the jailbreaking thing that most people do with iphones or iPod touches. To be truthful I have jailbroken my iPod touch to get the iphone apps on it. From looking through many of the 3rd party apps there is one that says 'unlock iPhone to use any sim'. Now whether this works or not I ain't too sure as I can't try it out as obviously I have the 'touch'.
This could well work as all the apps I have downloaded actually work. Could also save you allot of dollar aswell :fcuk:. I have the links for this stored on my computer but im on the touch ATM so can't copy & paste Idont think. will give you the link tomorrow mate. hope this helps a little!!

if you buy one that comes with firmware 1.1.2, then ATM there impossible to unlock because of the new bootloader or something.

its extremely easy to downgrade to 1.1.1 firmwire though. Took me like 10 mins - then you just install the 'apps' or whatever then upgrade back to 1.1.2. Its so easy to get around tbh ;) - dosent make a difference what so ever :y:

like harvmate said you can download an app that unlocks it its called "anySIM" "unlock your iphone for any GSM carrier.ONLY USE THIS APPLICATION IF YOU NEED TO" sounds risky to me.
jailbraking ipod touch FTW
