Wrong section...
there is a way.
You have to show the hidden files.. then go onto something and something...
cant remember without doing it atm!

the only way i have ever done it is using a naughty little program called ipod access... by putting the music you got off you mates computer onto yours is theoreticaly stealing thats why they restrict it, but like i say i use ipod access no ones perfect :P
there maybe another way but i dont know it lol

You need Itunes usually, when you connect the ipod to this (with Itunes open) you will get the option of syncing the ipod with itunes, one option will be to have your itunes library replace everything on your ipod or vice versa, it will come up with this option each time you plug in your ipod, Hope this helps :y:

i got the same one otherday for xmas, you should get the option to just connect it, not sync it connect it and dont sync, then when you see the ITunes menu bar you will have the ITunes library and your ipod library just drag and drop your songs dude, simple :y:
az_mk
27th December 2007, 23:14
yeah it will wipe it unless you check off "automatically sync ipod" you need to manually manage your music.

1. Open Itunes, let it fully load etc,
2. Connect your ipod to your comp (via the USB cable) and it should prompt you with options
3.at the top it should say itunes library, movies, podcast etc,
then it will have your ipod (what ever you called it (James_pod) etc
it usually pops up where the CD information would, when you copy CD music to your ITunes library

Right click on the options of the ipod where i told you earlier, and you can select for it to auto update your ipod with new music on ITunes each time you connect
OR
you can de-select this options so you can drag and drop manually songs that you want :y:

I have clicked on the manual management and it said ok.
But nothing has changed.
I like the sound of drag and drop, but there is nowhere to drop it to!
I havent got a list of all my current ipod songs or anything.

not on itunes...
you have to go to my computer...
open up the ipod.
then right click..show hidden files...
then somewhere the file with all your music is there...
you have to copy and paste it all from the ipod onto your harddrive.

That makes sense, but i cant find anything that says show hidden files! Do you mean in the attributes section? If so, its already unchecked!

Right, when it appears, click on the ipod (left click) and then you should have your ipod details appear with a tab bar along the top?
Ross-1987
27th December 2007, 23:46
sort your Sync settings, so if you sync it, it doesnt update anything (i just did it) :y:
and next to your ipod logo under the device tab on the left side of the screen will be a picture of your ipod, and to the right of that it's name!?
to the left of the logo is a triangle facing your iPod click it, and it should drop down a menu with option such as
Music
Movies
TV Show etc?

27th December 2007, 23:56
Everone ive done it!:P
All i had to do was click on the little arrow next to "matts_ipod" in the devices bit. Lol
Then it came up with a big list of all the songs that are on my ipod at the minute, so i just dragged "my music" into "my device" and hey presto, its transferring as we speak/type... Lol
Rep to everyone who helped tomorrow morning!:y:
Big thank you!;)
