problem just started recently, when i push down on the accelerator (moving or at a standstill) i can hear a slight whine'in / whirring noise cant hear it too much once ya get moving (probably because of the exhaust/engine drone'in it out).

any ideas as to what it could be??

any help appreciated thanks

sounds abit like an alternator bearing to me mate :n:

not 100% sure but i think its something like that. get a mechanic to listen to it, shouldnt cost anything or at least it doesnt where i work:y:

As you know i got the same prob.

New alternator is over £100 from Citroen!!

Second hand one from parts place where i live is £35 or can get one for the same off ebay. Really easy to fit tbh.

yup think its gonna be 2nd hand an me an a few mates tryin to fit it if i can persuade them that is. does mean not driving for awhile though, breakdown guy said if i drive with no heater, cd player jus dipped lights etc the battery might keep some sort of charge ..... brilliant lol

really jus want the car gone now lol
