Hi, Im thinking about getting a new saxo,
but i was wondering what the difference is between the VTR and VTS?

and does it make that much difference on your insurance?
Im only 18 nd not been driving 1 year yet (1 year in may) but i will be doing my pass pluss soon, so what would the insurance be like on a vtr or vts?

cheers

so what would the insurance be like on a vtr or vts?

A LOT.

dale, I would look at a furio tbh, much cheaper, not all that much slower than a vtr but miles cheaper to run and insure.

get a few years under your belt with that then consider a VTS, the change will be dramatic.

the difference is 20hp between the VTR and VTS, although that doesnt seem a lot the difference is startling.

R is 1.6 8 valve 90/98 bhp depending on year 0-60 in just under 10
S is 1.6 16 valve 120 bhp 0-60 in just under 8!

Try some of the comparison sites (confused.com or moneysupermarket) to see how your quotes come out!

S is 1.8 16 valve 120 bhp 0-60 in just under 8!

the vts is 1.6 aswell not 1.8

as said above, the power difference is huge

normally for your age and position a quote for a vts will prob be double or more than what you are quoted on vtr

im same age as you wiv 0 ncb and paying 1600 a year on vtr so a vts...............got a long wait

If you can justify the extra for the VTS then go for it, but there is actually a big
difference between the two.
Both models though do seem quite a bit to insure even considering their insurance
groups (VTS is a 14 btw)

I had my first vts at 18 with 1 years experience. only one insurance company would insure me....admiral and it cost me £2500!!!

i cudnt afford it but didn't care as no one my age had a vts. sold it for a deposit for a house, went through a few cheaper cars now back to me lil gem of a vts :d:d:d
