friend recently brought a 52 plate VTS.
when driving it back i noticed that there was no movement at all in the temperature gauge dial, i know they are usually suppose to run at around half on the gauge.

i know that the engine has recently been changed for a lower mileage one.
under the bonet, there is a green insulated wire hanging loose, i cannot find where its suppose to join to, is this the cause?

i did drive it over 130 miles back home and the engine seemed fine, although when i got it back i realised the oil had all drained from the gearbox and the plug/bung was missing but apart from that it seems awesome!

All help will be much appreciated! Thanks, Dan

have you tried changing the thermostat? think its thermostat anyway

could be that wire, unsure on where it goes to as never had that problemo

Dont think it is the thermostat, recently had a new one. Plus i think if the thermostat goes then it just reads its overheated all the time (im probably wrong though lol).
BUT can you be 100% sure it is not that green wire?
Just trying to scale down the problem and solutions i should try... thanks!

like said check the wires and all plugs are in right, make sure theres no water in them and the connections are clean

sometis leaving the battery disconnected overnight works :y:
