I have always thought that your bank is the best bet, either a card or a loan :)

I have an overdraft, not a £1000 but i think you can get it to that amount i think,

My friend has done similar to the suggestions above, taking out a credit car with no interest for a year, just make sure you pay it off before the interest kicks int :y:

i think you will struggle to find a loan for uner £5000 IMO

Here is a site you would like to avoid 48% APR!!! :n:

One you might like to try: as stated abovw i think! :y:

thing is with overdrafts though, you then have to try and get out of it. the temptation is always there to just spend the money.

Agreed, I got a £100 overdraft then they upp'ed it to £600 then couple months later upp'ed it to £1100. Now I cant get out of it coz I spent that money buying my car etc lol.

banks tend to use a rather large APR (unless your over a certain age, normally 24) i think you should go with everyone else and get a credit card :y:

credit card would be the way i'd go specialy 0% for 12months

credit card would be the best choice. Loan for such a small amount will have a high interest rate and i wouldn't get an overdraft either.

Would they give a 19 year old a credit card with no interest for a year?

You wanna be carefull how many you look at too pal. If you look at too many it goes down as financial insecurity beleive it or not and hammers your credit rating.

If you do go for a credit card make sure you get one with 0% on new purchases and not one offering 0% on balance transfers only.

Clever way of catching people out and stinging then with interest rates up to and over 30%!!!

I have a Capital One card and I'm pretty sure they are still doing 0% on purchases to new customers

So the one to look for is purchases. make sure that is 0%?

Also what if i withdraw say £500 will that have interest added onto it?

And lastly, if i take one out. And never use it....ever. Will i be charged anything???
