View Full Version : No Atmosphere at Football Grounds
E1999G
4th January 2008, 10:41
I read somewhere the other day that Alex Ferguson was moaning about how there was no atmosphere at Old Trafford the other day and that the atmosphere in ground was at a low during the past two weeks. I sort of have to agree with him i went to spurs vs fulham on boxing day which spurs won 5-1 :P but you could hear the players and managers shouting that how quite it was. Did anyone go 2 games over xmas/new year how was the atmosphere?

makes me angry that atmophere is poor. it people turning up exping a win so they can ooothe team i support won.
fans who only sing when there winning annoy me alot.
and its even worse when the supposed fans are the ones claiming they support man utd.

No lol the best atmosphere was spurs vs sevilla last year. Spurs were 2-0 down on the nite and 3-1 down over all for a solid 45mins every spurs fan was chants Martin Jol's Blue and White Army the place was jumping when we scored

Went to United and Everton on the 23rd dec, atmosphere was fine imo, worst atmosphere game at united was when we played sportling Lisbon at home this year in champs league because we were already through it was poor tbh...
Best game I have been too for atmosphere was United V arsenal when we stopped them from there 50 game not lost streak a few seasons back and the game against liverpool at home were Rio got the winner in the last minute :d
atmosphere was immense.

I loved watching the highlights of the Man ure vs Blues game. When Man U went 1-0 up i thought it was weird how they score yet the blues fans were singing louder! HA!

Man Utd is a brand.......not a football team.....Glazers who bought them go to 1 game a season....dedication
Way tooooo coporate now....
Gay seating areas only....cant stand up anymore.....I know they were introduced due to Hillsborough diaster but they ruined the atmosphere...

The thing that REALLY pisses me off though, I dont know if anybody else has this when they go the games.
But...why do people go to the games and just because we lost or draw etc. they Boo! It really gets on my tits and doesnt do the team any good.
Another thing thats pisses me off...why do people leave like 5 - 10 minutes before the end of the game!

wrong people getting in the stands, most people going can afford, most hardcore fans with be the ones givingthe pubs the atmosphere saturday afternoons, either unable to afford or make the listto go to the games (generally the big prem clubs)
last few months watched a few games on sky and during hte game its dead, liverpool chelsea couldnt hear a thing at stamford the other week it sounded like a training game its crap
maybe people are feeling blue when they realised how much its cost to get to sit in the seat and realise what they are watching is poor

A member to get home tickets. still not 100% able to get them
An Away member to get away tickets. Still not 100% able to get them.
Only games i get to are the big games, cup semi and finals or sheilds. As i know people in the FA who can source me tickets.
Me and my dad enquired about a season ticket for this season 07/08. They said we needed to be a memeber for 2 years and got so many points from going to home games.....

At united now, with the arrivals of Glazer, they introduced the "cup" scheme, basically in the season ticket you get 19 home tickets included in the price for prem games. But if you can't make any of the home cup games, e.g. Champs league, carling, fa cup you will still be charged which is a load of bollocks, meaning this year 6000 season tickets were not renewed at united.
Glazers need to be rid off.
In 2/3 years season tickets have gone up by 44%!! in 2004 i was paying 450ish, now there 700ish.

so does that mean he bought a box that holds 6people, and was told these 6 people would be able to get season tickets to stay in the box nextyear? or does it mean that because he buys a box hes allowed to get 6 season tickets for in the stands next year as a bonus/benefit kind of thing?
Clouds_mate

You buy the boxs season to season.
When he got his box. He was told, either way, if he keeps the box or not he was entitled to 6 season tickets at normal price without a waiting list.
That shouldnt be the case IMO. you should be 'able to jump the Que' the treatment you get from the boxing service is second to none. He was getting taken out on meals all the time end of the season was they tried to butter him up for another years worth of box.
Im sure the club has a certain amount of tickets allocated to things like this. Your telling me, David Beckham would have to wait 3 year to get a season ticket? Nahhh they would just give him the priority.
When your dealing with high end cilents in bussiness, as he was to utd. they should give out a little bit of priority, after all thats how a bussiness works. I understand what your saying and agree to a point, but thats just how it doesnt work.
Why would they (if he doesnt renew) just kick him outa the box? and not offer him a season ticket. hes never going to buy a box back then in the future is he if they treat him like that. Its not like most of the other boxes there ran by companys to sweeten cilents. He went with 6 boys all die hard utd fans. so his interest was very high in the game, not like other people who just go to rinse the wicked services they supply.
