well i got a short list:

1. Fuel gauge

well its not accurate to say the least. it works until quarter way, when it reaches quarter way that means im out of petrol had to find that out the hard way. i put in full tank of gas later and the thing just kept going up and down as i drive, when im stopped its full when i accelerate it goes all the way down fuel light on. have no idea whats causing it? anybody?

2. Ping on suspension.

i know its common with saxols, and ive seen a few threads about how you have to weld something in the suspension together. is there alternative solution? that can be done my self?

OR

any1 around cambrige who can weld it for me for a price?

3. petrol smell

well i fitted a green induction kti lately and ever since its on i can smell petrol when the heatin fans are on :s whats up with that? so much for DIY

thats about it fellas. any commens would be appreciated. :y:

1) Fuel gauge sender, sits in the top of the tank (get to it under the rear bench iirc)

2) Anti-roll bar end plate, 13mm bolt. Remove them bolts and fit hex bolts instead of the torx bolts which are there. Use thread tape and/or loctite on the new bolts.

3) Think that's normal with open filters.

1) am i suppose to replace it m8? or is there way to reset it or something?

2) do i have to lift it up to locate this? or can it be done easily while al wheels are in ground?

3) thats a relief :p was always the thought im going to blow up sooner or later in the back of my mind :D

thanks for the quick reply m8

1) Buy a new one, not sure how much but fairly cheap i'd imagine. Best get someone to put a voltmeter across it first to double-check it is this (should take a garage 5 minutes)

2) take back wheels off, you'll see a pear-shaped metal plate with a 13mm bolt on it. Remove the 13mm bolt and refit a hex bolt with loctite/thread tape

2) i hear the sound from the right wheel thou? the guy who sold it to me said it was the right front, and appearently he was a mechanic?

The pinging is common on saxos on the rear anti-roll bar plate i've mentioned, but if it's coming from the front i've heard a few people on here recently comment that their front (lowering) springs move in the spring cups when turning (not happened to mine ever but seems to have happened to some). Another common problem on the saxo is the rear bolt on the front wishbones seem to come loose with age, you get to this from inside the car at the front footwell by lifting the carpet and accessing it that way.

oh sorry i forgot to mention. this sound only comes when i turn the wheel like full way. and its not lowered it might be the wishbone i can remember the guy going on about something with a similar name :p is it a easy fix if i do manage to get to it? or should i be booking into a garage? thanks

get a socket set and tighten it up yourself, lift up the carpet in the footwells (you have to cut through sound deadening iirc) and you should see 2 16mm nuts. Tighten them up and fingers crossed job done. :)

Edit: there's a guide on here:clicky (http://www.saxperience.com/faq/show-article.php?artid=86)
