Well here goes spent this sunday fitting a new axle to my car all went good, would of liked to get the axle painted up before it went on but didnt have time so im going to have to do this in situe need suggestion on what paint to use.
But anyway i bought my 206 back in june and was aware it was a cat d wright off but it had been repaired and looked well. But when i got it the steering wheel was always to the right and would needed to be held like this for the car to drive straight i thought this was the tracking slightly out so didnt let it bother me to much as it wasnt causing any wear to the tyres so i just drove around like this. after a few months the axle started knocking and clunking and making lots of strange noise so off i went to a garage and they said the trailer arm bearing was buggered, was told this was a big job and to buy a new axle so i done this and all was well fitted it today and on my drive home the car felt like new, smooth, handled ten times better but there was something different turns out the steering wheels now sits straight when i drive instead of too the right and ive also lost a constant knocking noise from the front end, i thought this was the bush's. So its looking like ive spent 6 months driving a car with a twisted axle and come to think how the hell did this car pass a mot in may? just after it was repaired as surely this would of been noticable to a tester, could the seller who sold me the car of known about it and have i got a dodgy mot?
