I'm having some problems with my gearbox or clutch... Or horror of horrors both!! Hope someone can help, i'll describe what's happening:

1) There's a squealy, whirry noise that only stops when I put my foot fully down on the clutch.....

2) Twice this week i've started the car, put it into reverse, and the car's started 'jumping'... Hard to decribe.... Before jamming in reverse.. Ouch!!

Takes me a good five mins and firm pursuasion and turning my engine off then back on again before I can get it out of gear. Not having any problems with any of the other gears at all at the moment. The gearbox has always been really stiff but never had any of these problems before!! Someone told me it could be the linkages that have worn does anyone have any advice on how to check these and replace them if necessary?

Thanks!! ;)
