Hi all, just bought a vtr, it vibrates really badly when it gets to 50mph and worse the quicker you go, seller told me the front wheels need balancing, as its had new tyres fitted, i've had this done to no avail, the gear stick vibrates so much you can not see the numbers, i got the car up to 70mph today and let it out of gear, perfect the car ran as it should, so when its free wheeling there's no vibrations, but as soon as you engage a gear it starts to vibrate, i've had the front end jacked up checked engine mounts, bush's, links and all visable parts nothing looked out of place, there seamed to be a bit of play in the n/s/drive shaft would that cause the problem, thanks all for your help.

if you cant hear much noise from the drive shaft then that isnt your problem it sounds more like the gearbox mounting that is what usually causes the gearstick to go mental. give me some more info and ill try and help.

Could be a missfire and warn engine mounts causing it!

Checked all mounts looked ok, engine runs ok, ran car down hill out of gear, engine running, sounded ok not misfiring.
