Just gathering peoples opinions on the citroen xsara vts

so it's best to go for the 306 gti-6 really
as the handling will be better right?

It's a good engine but let down by the gearbox from what I've heard. The gti-6 and rallye box is a straight fit
Seriously underrated cars though (edit - Leeroy beat mr to it!)
Stiff the suspension up and a decent handling car too

Nath, i saw onein Abergavenny the other night, im not sure if
it was an ex-works car, but it pulled up near my house and pulled away real fast sounding mint. it was the white and red version.
do you really want a new car ? you have only jus started to make some decent progress on your saxo....

Not saying its bad or anything, but its the same insurance group (16) as a Renaultsport Clio, so its a no-no for me. :P

rhys,
my insurance is up in april,
really fancy something quicker, so if there's anything about around that time I would consider it
but in reality will probably wait until this time next year

it'd be cheaper to insure the Xsara as its value is less
Very good cars. Basically a peugeot 306 but looks different.
Two ways you can get the look. Could either get an existing car resprayed or cover it with vehicle wrapping vinyl to completely change the outside which would be cheaper.

and tidy places to get it done

ahh but like kam said would be cheaper to insure as its cheaper to buy a good example of one of these rather than a clio sport

Yeah but you can't buy a Renaultsport Clio for a grand
My boyfriends best mate has one and loves it. It's definately quick and handles pretty well too. They are about 35mm lower than any other Xsara as standard anyway.
Check this out for your rally look http://cgi.ebay.fr/KIT-WRC-pour-XSARA-PH-1_W0QQitemZ190186843835QQihZ009QQcategoryZ131650QQ ssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

the saxo vts is quicker than a xsara vts 0-60
so where does the extra 40+ bhp differ
leeroybrown
11th January 2008, 12:38
xsara has 30ft more torque to

They make a lush noise due to a metal throttlebody and inlet manifold isnt it?
Well cheap good cars.
Bit crap that the timing belts need changing so frequently on them / GTi6.

You dont buy these cars for looks
I bought one as it was newer then a gti-6 had more toys and less miles
Honnestly with a modified air box and exhaust it shouldnt like it was eating the tarmac.
