Abscess Tooth...

Been off work since Monday with a sickness bug and a minor ache in one of my back teeth.....Was feeling better towards lastnight....got a good nights sleep.

Woke up this morning to discover the whole right side of my face is swelled up and I look like Buzz Lightyear......

Anyone else ever suffered from one of these? Got a dentist appointment at half 12....shitting it. Never been a huge lover of the dentist and generally I do get scared lol.

Whats in store for me the elephant man?

Yep I had this, lovely bit of pain. Although my face didnt swell up too much (i have a fat head)

They will just give you some drugs to clear the Abcess. Nothing else.

serious. draining the absess was three appointments i think and then afterwords she needed another 3 appointments to sort the root out.

If you are NHS, there are limits to the treatment costs.

Cheapest option is to remove the tooth.
Best option is brufen and paracetamol along with a course of metronidazole (avoid alcohol though.)

You may need definitive treatment in the way of root canal work at a later date.

I had that when half of my front tooth got knocked out. Was going down a waterslide and some fat fuck landed on my face. Few days later the swelling had readched my eyes i looked well gay, just took drugs til it went away


You get this you need a root canal as said, i got it free cus i was 15 but i dont think its cheap

Just come back from my appointment.....

Paid £12.00 for X-ray and she fumbled round in my mouth.....

Prescribed me Anoxycillin.......1 pill every 8 hours....no alcohol intake AT ALL.

Plenty of rest and it should clear it up..

Once finished pills got to go back for a root filling and possibly cap it off

I had those pills, made me feel like shit and did more harm than good so i got some different ones. Hopefully was just me though. I could feel straing on my chest and stuff wasnt nice, happened very quickly after takin em tho

Had the same thing as you,

They gave me antibiotics (sp) to take the swelling down, and they said i would need to come back for root canal surgery,

ANYWAY

They inject to num the area,
Drill up through the back of the infected tooth,Squeez all the pussy shit out thats up there,
They then proceed to pull out all the nerves for that tooth
Then they fill the absis(sp) back up with saylene(sp) to kill off infection

You need to go home and come back for another app

This time they fill the gumm thing with magic stuff (i dont know what it is)
Then they heat it up and it sets, then they re-cover the whole with filling,

Sounds bad but does'mt hurt very much just niggles, and i HATE the DENTIST
