It'll be currency conversion and administration charges.

Don't think there is any chance of you being able to claim them back.

mate were talking like 5 or 10 pounds commission and the money is like slightly under 50 quid and thats insane if i was running a scandal dont think id be posting it up on here maybe tell ya how to do it if i knew lol !

I think the amount of commission charged is a percentage of the total funds so the more you receive the higher the charges.

You could ask for more money from the sender to cover this but it's up to them at the end of the day!

Have a look on NafWest's website - http://www.natwest.com/personal02.asp?id=PERSONAL/DAY_TO_DAY/INTERNATIONAL_SERVICES/INTERNATIONAL_PAYMENTS/RECEIVING_MONEY_FROM_ABROAD/BANK_TO_BANK

It looks to me as if they only charge £1 per £100 or foreign currency equivalent.

If in doubt contact customer services!

Charges for foreign currency transfers are usually set as a percentage with a certain minimum fee. Short of having a euro account, or even an affiliate of the sender's bank, a fee will need to be paid.

Paypal may be an option (fees will also be paid though.)

Anyhooo, read back over one of my posts a few weeks ago. Guesss what I've set up?
