Im fed up of the saxo breaking all the time, and its not really as quick as i had hoped it would be. So i think now is the time to sell up and get something which will meet my requirements.
I am currently 19, with 0 nbc, but come may 2008 i will have 1 year ncb.
I am now paying £2450 insurance tpft on my vtr, which is ridiculous.
I have had several quotes on a volkswagon corrado VR6, which is group 18, with a 3 litre V6 engine, with 0 to 60 of 6.5 and top speed of 150mph.
They came out at about £1650 fully comp, in my own name, with 1 year ncb and my girl friend as a named driver!:P
Also had a quote on a toyota supra 3.0l twin turbo! 3rd party only=£2000
How the hell can i be paying more insurance on a saxo than on a 300bhp race car!?!?!

Most insurance companys will class the supra TT as the UK version try doing it for an import hahah

Insurance quotes change all the time. I suppose what you were quoted a year ago will be different if you get quoted again (even with the old details).
Like my saxo was in the garage for nearly a month, so i took my astra back on the road, so swapped the insurance. When I got the saxo back, i swapped the insurance, and Im now paying £10 more a month lol.
The difference you have is huge though ...

just build up some claims mate, drop a vts engine in after a years no claims then keep it another year or two, i would never even pay that for insurance

My renewal quote on the VTR is £1964! TPFT
Well i may as well get the corrado! I mean, its german, Well built, VERY fast, handles well and looks nice.
Not really much point in dropping the VTS in it tbh. I mean at the end of the day its still a citroen saxo!

shop around mate, price's seem very strange, yet that's the norm with car insurance :panic:
i just got my renewal pack through, it said £660, so went on there site and did an online renewl, thats £550, so even better again.
always look around, don't just take whats handed to you.
this is me on my own fully comp on a vts.

it does seem stupid to have to pay such high premiums as a new driver. before you know it youve got 1 or 2 years ncb and cars like a supra TT are cheaper to insure than a saxo was the year before. your used to paying such high prices for insurance so you think 'why not get a supra?'

If it were me mate I would continue to shop around. The fact you have one
yeras NCB means it will be cheaper.
