Right need some help people, heres the situation.
Im 20, and going to pick up a new car tomorrow.
Now I need to drive it back, but I dont want to insure it fully just yet. Day insurance companies wont touch me since im under 21.
So does anyone know of any that do?
Also the guy im buying it off said just start any policy and cancel it the next day, most I can get charged is a days insurance and an admin charge of £30/40, is this true?
Cheers in advance. Vidal your input would be appreciated here!

Grant, why not just ring up your insurers?
Cancellation MAY cause you problems later on when reapplying with the same company.

also they will most likely charge by month surely, so youll get refunded 11 months and charged the admin fee

Is there not a 14 day window if you find it cheaper elsewhere you can cancel it?
Vidal, I would but my insurance wont cover me on anything over a 1.6 until im 21, and the car im buying is bigger than that. I just need to get it home then its going in the garage until I have my 2 years no claims from my company and I can change.

Grant,
how far away is it, there are several firms who will trailer for a fixed rate per mile.
Do you have an older relative who could insure it on a day basis? Could the owner drive it to your place?

Its 93 miles away Vidal, so I think that would be quite expensive.
No the owner cant unfortunately.
We were going to get the train up and my dad drive it back, but the trains aren't running properly due to maintenance works :(
Ill need to see if I can put my dad on it for a day, but if we drive up in his car then we cant get that back since Im not insured for that either. Complicated!
And he doesnt want to sit in my car for 2 and a half hours since its lowered and uncomfortable and no cd player lol!
