They'll outlast the car in my mind. They're sposed to have somthing silly like 50,000 hours life aren't they ? Which, you dont exactly drive round with your lights on all day do ya?!

blimey. I've never heard of it to be honest. I suppose the cars that come with them these days have glass instead of plastic headlights?

Must do, but they really do look like glass lenses, but people on here say they are plastic. I dont want to put them in and then waste nearly 200 pounds by melting them if you see what i mean!

If they dont melt i am 100% putting them in coz will look awesomeee

Ive heard this as well, and the angel eyes are plastic lens. So would seem feasible that the heat from the HID kit could melt them.

I have a mk1. Upgraded just the bulbs and my angels have a small mark burnt into them.

Saxo standard headlights = glass
Saxo angel eyes = plastic

Any mk2 angels supplied by Ultra should have a sticker on the back saying 'DO NOT USE WITH HID's' or equivalent...

When i had my first set with standard halogens they didn't last that long before the lenses cracked.. but ultra thought it was a problem with the plastic in the first ever batch of them... In my new set i have the upgraded Xenon bulbs - these are recommended by Rimstyle.. and as far as i am aware.. they are the most powerful bulbs that are meant to be used with them... and they dishout a shedload of light.. they are very bright... worth the upgrade over halogens anyday... and to be honest.. i wouldn't risk using HID's as it will invalidate the warranty...

Just has a thought.
Why not pull the lenses of both sets of lights apart and use the glass lenses from the standard lights on the angel eyes. Then Hid away :y:

Isn't it the projector bit that take the punishment rather than the actual headlamp lense?

baker556

no as the lens cracks from the HIDs

SaxoAL
