but im not sure on the safety restrictions!!
Here is my problem,Woke up to a bitterly cold morning and noticed my passenger side front tyre was flat. Attemped to pump it up,things were not as easy as they seemed. No air was going into the tyre, ran my hand ove the inside of the tyre to notice a huge slash in the tyre from where it has been rubbing!
Here comes the stupid question!!!
Can I put my spare tyre located under the rear of car (14") on the front passenger side of my car, while the other 3 wheels are 17"??

not sure on the legality of it myself, but you have no otehr option really so just do it. Most of the Safety get you home spare wheels (the daft red ones) are smaller than the other wheels so it cant be an issue surely?

Well like you said i have no other option, its gonna have to be done! Its the second time its slashed the inside, i will have to stick to my falken tyres these are the only ones that fit nicely in the arches. Made the mistake of buying 2 KUMHO tyres for replacments but both of them catch on the inside of the arch and slash!

it wont matter as long as you go and get the other fixed...its not the legal side you should be worrying about its the stress on the chassis
with one wheel being alot smaller..the difference needed in height for the wheel to take the weight of the car means it can put stress on the parts of car as things are being twisted

Yeh well my car is currently at home on axel stands, has no wheels on at all, cause bin doin some work on it over the weekend! I can see anything that were pierce the tyre. i had falkens on it for two years and this neva happened, but now with these KUMHO it slashes it.
Well i only need the spare to drive back and for to work till my tyres come, which ive ordered off internet.

wouldn't be rallying around with the smaller wheel on or flying over bumps.

Falken tyres have a lot thinner tyre wall compared to Kumho, that why R-tec recommended me getting falken tyres if I had of gone for the 17's.

they dont have a thinner tyre wall, otherwise it would have a different profile say 205/35/17 smileys/smiley2.gif
the falkens tyre wall slopes inwards unlike other s with just stick straight upwards or even bulge outwards. the falkens slope inwards giving just that little bit more room

Yes they do slope upwards unlike the kumho, but gona have a gander at wat is slashing the tyres anyways and get Mr. Angle Grinder out!!!
