Topped up with £20 worth of shell hi-performance £1.09 litre, and noticed quite a difference:y: faster pickup and better topend running. I don't think it was my imagination! anyone else tried it?

I did try it out in the c2vts and was well down on mpg from 150-160mpg for £20 to 125mpg on the same run! maybe the 16v engine in the c2 is built for the lower octane?
I'll see how the saxo goes tomorrow on the same run.

dont use shell hi performace, so cant comment.

dont use supermarket petrol either, believe they have less octanes (sp?) than shell/esso/bp etc.

I use V-power and BT Ultimate. Dont really know if theres a difference as Ive
used it since day one of the GTi.

Dont think I couldnt not use it now. Would feel guilty.

i usually use premium now 97 octane instead of 95 octane because i notice the difference between the 2. Just seems a little more responcive witht he 97 octane :)

I don't think V-power does anything for my car performance wise but it did seem very slightly more economical

That is usually the case.

Shouldn't really notice any difference on lower powered cars but def noticable on tweaked vts's etc

it sounds like something a chav would say "oh yeh man i used this petrol last night and my car was flying!" :p but really i must say i have used Shell once on my 1.0 scandal, normally it tops out on 85 (according to the speedo) but that time it did actually go up to 90mph. have no idea about mpg thou.

I filled up with v-power the other day, after usually always running on 95, does seem slightly more smoother, nothing amazing though. Nice to know i'll get more mpg out of it though. Does my head in having to go and fill up
